swelling in his foot has gone down

NEWPORT, R. James Van Riemsdyk Jersey .I. -- Mardy Fish captured the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, rallying for a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over fourth-seeded Olivier Rochus of Belgium. Fish overcome his frustration at a close line call at the end of the first set Sunday to win his fourth career title. The fifth-seeded American entered the week ranked 79th. "Youve got to keep the goal in mind," he said of the point. "Not every call is going to be perfect. Everybodys trying to do their job. I felt like I was on the tough end (of that)." On the final point of the first set, Rochus hit a return to the back corner. Fish appeared ready to play the ball but let it go. The chair umpire said Rochus won the game and set. Fish argued and waved his racket to the chair. Fish took control in the best game of the match, breaking in the ninth of the third set to go up 5-4. He squandered three break points before closing it out with a forehand cross at the net. "I wanted to play this match on my terms. I wanted to win it or lose it on my racket," he said of the key game. "Ive certainly lost a lot of heartbreak finals. It certainly feels great to win one." In the final game, Rochus failed on a pair of break point chances. On the final point, Rochus lunged on a wide serve, barely getting a backhand over the net before Fish put an easy forehand cross in to end it. He raised both arms in triumph, turned to the fans at all four sides of the court and gestured with a hug. "Youre bound to have a lot of nerves, I knew that," Fish said. "Ive been in just about every situation, but its been a long time." His last title was in 2009 at Delray Beach, Calif. The 29-year old Rochus entered the week ranked 65th. He hadnt lost a set this week until the finals. "I cant say I did play a bad final, didnt go for it," Rochus said. "I went for it. The last two games were so close. Mardy was pushing hard at the end." Its the first time since 2002-03 Americans won on Newports grass courts two straight years. Rajeev Ram won in 2009. Taylor Dent won in 2002 and Robby Ginepri the next year. Fish had 24 aces in the match. Rochus had just two. "That was the key of the match," Rochus said. "We know Mardy has a great serve." Fish played in his second final in a month, improving his career mark to 4-11 with his first title on grass. He lost to Sam Querrey at Queens Club in June. Rochus fell to 2-6 in ATP finals. It was his first on grass. Fish won US$75,700 and Rochus earned $39,780. Bernie Parent Jersey . PAUL, Minn. Mike Green Authentic Jersey . A Vancouver Canucks spokeswoman confirmed the goaltender made the trip to Montreal ahead of Thursdays game against the Canadiens. Luongo was sidelined after taking a Gabriel Landeskog shot in the throat in Tuesdays 6-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche. Luongo served the rest of the game as the backup to Cory Schneider. Following the game, the 32-year-old Montreal native said he felt light-headed after going down, but indicated he was feeling better. Luongo made only his second start since suffering an undisclosed upper-body injury Nov. 13 against the New York Islanders. Prior to making a relief appearance in a loss to Nashville a week ago and starting Sunday against Calgary, he watched five straight games from the bench and missed another two with his brief injury. It marked the first time in Luongos six-season tenure with the Canucks that he served as the backup for an extended period. The Canadiens pose the first test on Vancouvers five-game road trip. The Canucks have posted seven wins, including three shutouts, in their last eight games. Schneider was credited with two of those while Tuesdays blanking of the Avs was recorded as a team shutout because both goaltenders played. This marks the second time Luongo has had to deal with throat issues prior to a game in Montreal. In 2006-07, he took a shot in the larynx during practice and spent the night before the game in a Montreal hospital. But he was released in time to post a 4-0 victory. Luongo takes particular enjoyment from playing in Montreal before family and friends. In 26 career games against the Habs, he has a 9--11-5 record, two shutouts and a . Meanwhile, winger Chris Higgins, who was forced to sit out Tuesday with a recurrence of a staph infection in his foot suffered last season, was also on the teams charter flight. The swelling in his foot has gone down with help from medication, but it remains to be seen whether he will play. Higgins is currently riding a four-game points streak. The team spokeswoman did not have details on the status of winger David Booth, who was injured in a knee-on-knee collision with Colorados Kevin Porter on Tuesday. Porter, previously unpenalized this season, received a five-minute major and game misconduct for the hit. Earlier Wednesday, the Canucks called up winger Bill Sweatt from Chicago of the AHL on an emergency basis and re-assigned winger Viktor Oreskovich to Chicago after he played on the fourth line Tuesday. Sweatt, a 23-year-old Elburn, Ill., native is in his second season in the Canucks organization after signing as a free agent out of Colorado College. He is expected to suit up for his first NHL game Thursday. He had recorded four goals, five assists and 10 penalty minutes in 19 games with the Wolves. Notes:@ The Canucks also announced they have signed a minor-league affiliation agreement with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. The announcement marks the second time the Canucks and the Michigan-based club have joined forces. The Canucks and K-Wings were also affiliated with each other from 1984-87, when Kalamazoo was in the now-defunct International Hockey League. Vancouver had to look for a new ECHL farm club after the Victoria Salmon Kings folded following the 2010-11 season. ' ' '

rematch on Tuesday. Boston

BEIJING - Chinese analysts have refuted criticism that China is not acting responsibly enough to address the recent increase in tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Chris Pronger Jersey . It is evident that China is actively making diplomatic efforts to ease the tensions and pushing for contacts and talks among relevant parties, they said, adding that these facts should not be ignored. John McCain, a senior U.S. senator said China is not behaving as a responsible world power in dealing with the Korean Peninsula situation. The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Armed Services Committee has called on China to suspend economic and energy assistance to the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) to show the DPRK consequences for its aggression. China does not control the DPRK, and Chinas actions are made out of a respect for other sovereign states and humanitarian considerations, said Zhu Feng, professor at Peking Universitys School of International Studies. United Nations Security Council Resolution 1874 adopted in June 2009 made it clear measures imposed by the resolution upon the DPRK are not intended to have adverse humanitarian consequences for the civilian population of the DPRK. There is serious misunderstanding and hostility between the DPRK and the Republic of Korea (ROK). The best solution is to make every possible effort to bring the parties to negotiation to maintain peace, Zhu said. Only with more contact and dialogue can we ease the current tensions and find a solution acceptable to all, Zhu added. As tensions grow, China has proposed emergency consultations be held next month between the heads of the delegations to the Six-Party Talks, Wu Dawei, Chinese special representative for the Korean Peninsula affairs, said Sunday. The analysts also called for calm and restraint to maintain and promote peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. The series of large joint military drills between the ROK and the United States in the Korean Peninsula region is unprecedented, and the show of force may sting the DPRK and heighten tensions, said Tao Wenzhao, a research fellow at the Institute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The ROK and the United States conducted joint military drills in March, June, August and September in the ROK and in waters off the ROK coast. Furthermore, the two countries started a high-profile four-day drill involving the U.S. aircraft carrier George Washington Sunday, after the deadly exchange of fire between the DPRK and the ROK on November 23. The ROK and the United States hope the drills deter the DPRK, said Shi Yinhong, a professor with the American Studies Center at Renmin University of China. However, Shi said, this could further anger the DPRK and press the DPRK to take more aggressive countermeasures. Shi said the most important thing at present is to push for an exchange of opinions through talks and consultations between the relevant parties to avoid misunderstandings that may cause serious consequences. After the recent shelling incident, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said during his visit to Russia that China opposes any military provocation on the Korean Peninsula. Wen called for the utmost restraint from all relevant parties and joint efforts by the international community to ease tensions.? China is also making unremitting efforts to restart the Six-Party Talks. Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Chi Jae Ryong, Ambassador of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) to China, and held telephone conversations with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, ROK Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara to exchange opinions on the Korean Peninsula situation. Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met with ROK President Lee Myung-bak Sunday in Seoul. After a long, candid and in-depth talk, the two sides said the situation on the peninsula is worrisome, agreeing that parties concerned should make joint efforts to engage in serious contact and dialogue to ease tensions and safeguard peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in northeast Asia. Ni Feng, deputy director of the CASS Institute of American Studies, called on the Chinese government to make further efforts to promote talks, despite existing difficulties. Dialogue is better than confrontation, Ni said, adding that if the situation deteriorates, the biggest losers will be the DPRK and the ROK. The Bruins are leading the division by three points over Ottawa, but Boston has lost three of its last four games and has posted a 4-6-1 record in February. Meanwhile, the Senators enter tonight riding a four-game winning streak and a 5-0-1 mark in their last six games. However, the club will be forced to play without No. 1 goaltender Craig Anderson, who is sidelined after suffering a freak injury. Anderson was in net for all four games during Ottawas current win streak, but he suffered a lacerated right pinky finger while preparing a meal on Wednesday and is out indefinitely. Anderson, who is 29-19-6 this year, will be replaced as the teams primary starter by Alex Auld and Robin Lehner has also been recalled from Binghamton of the AHL. Thanks to Andersons solid play all season long, Auld has been used sparingly this year, going 2-3-2 in 13 games (7 starts). The veteran backup is confident he can get the job done while Anderson is on the shelf. "Its my role. Thats why Im here," Auld said after practice on Friday. "Im looking forward to it and I look at it as an opportunity. Craig is a huge part of our team and its a tough loss, but I think we have a capable group and were playing good hockey. Weve just got to keep that going." In addition to playing without their top goaltender tonight, the Sens will also face a Boston team that has won seven straight in this series overall. The Bruins have also taken seven in a row and 10 of the last 11 meetings at Scotiabank Place. Andersons last start before the injury came in Tuesdays 5-2 win over visiting Washington. He stoppped 33-of-35 shots and Milan Michalek tallied twice to lead Ottawa to the easy victory. Brett Hull Jersey. . Erik Karlsson picked up a goal and two assists for the Senators, while Chris Phillips and Nick Foligno also found the net. Karlsson has set a franchise record for points in consecutive games by a defenseman with three goals and four assists over his last two outings. With 60 points on the year, the 21-year-old Karlsson is just three shy of tying Norm Macivers club record for points in a season by a defenseman. Maciver had 63 points for Ottawa during the 1992-93 season. Ottawa is 16-11-3 as the host this season. After completing a three-game homestand tomorrow against the New York Islanders, the Senators will visit Boston for a rematch on Tuesday. Boston posted a 4-2 win Wednesday in St. Louis, but the Bruins dropped a shootout decision last night in Buffalo. The setback dropped the Bruins to 2-2-1 on six-game road trip that ends tonight. Derek Roy scored in the fourth round of the shootout to lift the Sabres to the 2-1 win. Roy faked to the backhand before lifting a shot off the right post and past Tuukka Rask. Benoit Pouliot had the final chance for Boston, but Ryan Miller made the glove save on the wrist shot for the win. Zdeno Chara lit the lamp in regulation for the Bruins, while Rask stopped 26 shots in the loss. Tim Thomas is expected to get the start in net tonight. "It was a close game and they played really well," said Chara. "The goalies on both sides made some huge stops. Its just a shame that we didnt get the extra point." Boston has not had consecutive wins since January 10 and 12, going 8-9-2 during that time. The Bruins have almost identical records at home and on the road this season. Boston is 18-10-1 as the guest and 18-10-2 at TD Garden. ' ' '

NHL all-star game has lost another

Melbourne, Australia (Sports Network) - Last years champion Novak Djokovic and runner-up Andy Murray, as well as Aussie hero and former finalist Lleyton Hewitt, were among Saturdays third-round winners at the Australian Open. Jaroslav Halak Jersey . The world No. 1 Djokovic rolled past helpless Frenchman Nicolas Mahut 6-0, 6-1, 6-1 on Day 6. The Serbian slugger advanced in a mere 74 minutes, piling up eight service breaks in the process and holding his serve throughout. "I always played well in Australia. This is the only Grand Slam I won twice," Djokovic said. "The conditions are great. Theyre very suitable to my style of the game, day and night. Im really looking forward to next week." The reigning Aussie Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open titlist has now won 35 of his last 37 Grand Slam matches and is seeking a third straight major title and a third Aussie crown. A title here would put Djokovic in select company, as only four players -- Rod Laver, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal -- have captured three straight Grand Slam championships. Djokovic, who beat Murray in last years Aussie finale, will meet the former No. 1 Hewitt here on Monday. A fourth-seeded Murray, meanwhile, improved to 15-2 here over the last three years with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-0 throttling of French left-hander Michael Llodra in 1 hour, 49 minutes. The Brit swatted 30 more winners (48-18) in the Day-6 rout. In addition to his loss against Djokovic in last years finale, Murray gave way to Federer in the 2010 Aussie title tilt. The three-time major finalist Murray, who captured a title in Brisbane two weeks ago, will face Kazakhstans Mikhail Kukushkin in the fourth round next week. The unseeded Hewitt thrilled the home crowd by upending rising 23rd-seeded Milos Raonic 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. Hewitt moved on in 3 hours, 6 minutes, despite 23 aces from Raonic, who also piled up 54 unforced errors. The Aussie veteran managed three key service breaks, compared to two for the Canadian loser. Raonic recently titled in India to open the 2012 season. Hewitt is a two-time major champion and was the 2005 Aussie runner-up to Marat Safin. Fifth-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer took care of 27th-seeded Argentine Juan Ignacio Chela 7-5, 6-2, 6-1, while Frances Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the tournaments sixth seed, tattooed Frederico Gil of Portugal 6-2, 6-2, 6-2. Tsonga lost to Djokovic in the 2008 Aussie Open finale. Ferrer titled in Auckland last week, while Tsonga is fresh off his championship in Doha two weeks ago. A top-10 upset came when sweet-swinging Frenchman Richard Gasquet, seeded 17th, dismissed No. 9 Serb Janko Tipsarevic 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 in 1 hour, 37 minutes. A lethargic Tipsarevic exited after misfiring for 33 unforced errors, compared to only eight for the in-form Gasquet. Gasquet should have his hands full with the gritty Ferrer here on Monday. In other third-round play, the aforementioned Kukushkin stunned 14th-seeded French star Gael Monfils 6-2, 7-5, 5-7, 1-6, 6-4, while 24th-seeded Japanese Kei Nishikori bested Frances Julien Benneteau 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. The capable Benneteau was a finalist in Sydney last week. Nishikori will tangle with Tsonga in the round of 16. The fourth round will commence Sunday, including matches for a second-seeded Nadal and a third-seeded Federer. Nadal will take on 18th-seeded fellow Spaniard and Davis Cup teammate Feliciano Lopez, while Federer will encounter rising Aussie sensation, 19-year-old Bernard Tomic. The former No. 1 Nadal owns 10 major titles, including last years French Open and the 2009 Aussie, when he topped Federer in the final at Melbourne Park. The former top-ranked Federer boasts a mens record 16 Grand Slam wins, including a mens Open era record-tying four Aussie championships. Also on Sunday, seventh-seeded former Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych will meet 10th-seeded Nicolas Almagro and 11th-seeded former U.S. Open champ Juan Martin del Potro will battle German Philipp Kohlschreiber. PITTSBURGH -- The NHL all-star game has lost another Pittsburgh Penguins star. Forward Evgeni Malkin will miss this weekends festivities in Raleigh, N.C., due to a sinus infection, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Tuesday. Malkin joins Penguins teammate Sidney Crosby on the sidelines. Crosby is out with a concussion and will not attend the event. Bylsma said Malkin was too sick to play Tuesday night against the Islanders. The Russian is also reportedly nagged by a sore left knee. "Evgeni is not healthy enough to return to the ice right now," said Bylsma. "He needs to get healthy before we can move forward with thaat. Alex Ovechkin Authentic Jersey. Is that during the break, or is that after the break? We dont know that. We hope its soon, maybe within the next week or so, he can think about getting back on the ice again when hes healthy and the pressure in his head subsides." Malkin was voted into the all-star game by the fans but hasnt played for a week. He has 15 goals and 22 assists in 42 games this season. Minnesota Wild winger Martin Havlat will take Malkins place on the all-star roster. The NHL also announced that Keith Yandle will take the place of Atlanta Thrashers defenceman Tobias Enstrom, who is out with a broken finger. ' ' '

BOSTON -- A late-period score and blown lead could have been enough to send the Washington Capitals to another road loss in this up and down season. Patrik Elias Authentic Jersey . But now things may be turning during the right time. Following a comeback win over Tampa Bay at home two days earlier, the Capitals blew an early two-goal lead, but recovered to beat the defending Stanley Cup champion Bruins 4-3 on Saturday. The Capitals jumped ahead 2-0 in the opening 8:15 before giving up a score with 5.6 seconds left in the first period and allowed the tying goal in the second. "Its a coachs worst nightmare, giving up a late goal, and they tied it later, but the guys just kept pushing," Capitals coach Dale Hunter said. Alexander Semin had a goal and set up Jay Beagles go-ahead score, leading Washington to its second straight win after a three-game losing streak (0-2-1). It was Washingtons 12th road win of the season in 33 games (12-18-3). "I think we started pretty well," Washingtons Alex Ovechkin said. "I think we found a way to put the puck in their zone, make a cycle and put traffic in front of the net." The Capitals moved two points ahead of Winnipeg and is in sole possession of eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Washington also trails Florida by one point in the Southeast Division. Brooks Laich and Matt Hendricks also scored, and Tomas Vokoun stopped 30 shots for the Capitals. Brad Marchand, Milan Lucic and Johnny Boychuk scored for Boston, which failed to extend its winning streak to three games for the first time since late December. Tim Thomas, playing in his eighth consecutive game, made 26 saves for the Bruins. Bruins coach Claude Julien was upset by his teams effort and concentration at the beginning. The first two goals came off rebounds. "We talked about it before the game -- theyve got some guys that are dangerous there. To me it was just careless," he said. Washington improved to 20-0-0 when it leads after two periods. Boston tied the game at 2-2 on Marchands goal 4:58 into the second before the Capitals scored twice over the final 8:38 to take a 4-2 edge into the third. Seconds after the Bruins killed off Greg Zanons holding penalty, the Capitals kept the pressure on and Beagle scored on a wrister in the slot off a pass from Semin. They made it 4-2 on Laichs power-play score late in the period when he redirected former Bruins defenceman Dennis Widemans shot by Thomas from the slot. Mike Knuble misfired on a chance to give the Capitals a three-goal lead. He hit a post with just over 7 minutes to play. Boychuk then cut it to 4-3 when he came charging in to score off a rebound with 3:13 left in the third, scoring in his second straight game after not getting a goal since Dec. 3. The Bruins pulled Thomas for an extra skater with 1:20 to play and Washington held on despite a pair of chances on scrambles in front. Marchand tied it at 2-all when he collected a loose puck at centre ice after Jordan Caron checked Ovechkin into the boards, sending the puck free. He skated in alone, waited and slipped a shot between Vokouns pads. The Capitals scored a pair of goals 25 seconds apart in the opening period to grab a 2-0 lead. Semin collected the rebound of Karl Alzners shot right in front and slipped a shot behind Thomas at 7:50 of the period. On the ensuing shift, Troy Brouwer tipped Dmitry Orlovs shot from the point and the puck caromed over to Hendricks, who fired a shot into a wide-open net at 8:15. The Bruins called timeout after the second goal and controlled play for the rest of the period, cutting it to 2-1 when Lucic slipped a short wrist shot between Vokouns pads off a faceoff in the closing seconds of the first. "Obviously we came out flat and they got the lead," Bruins centre Patrice Bergeron said. "Were not going to win too many games if were battling back all game." Boston outshot Washington 10-1 after the timeout. But, that did little to help the Bruins in the second period. The Capitals took over following Marchands tying goal, outshooting Boston 12-4 for the rest of the period. Washington posted a 15-7 edge in shots on goal in the second and scored twice, collecting eight of its shots on power plays. NOTES: Injured Bruins G Tuukka Rask, out 4 to 6 weeks with a lower abdomen/groin strain groin suffered last Saturday, said before the game that its "probably closer to six weeks than four. That would be right around playoff time and I think were going to shoot for that, and hopefully its better by that time." ... Vokoun started his second straight game. ... Boston LW Benoit Pouliot was a late scratch with what the team announced as a "lower body injury" early in the second period. "After warmup, he said he cant go," Julien said. Boston used D Mike Mottau at forward. "I thought he did a great job," Julien said. "He was very adequate as a replacement." ... Lucic has two goals, five assists in his past six games. ... The Capitals host Toronto on Sunday before a five-game road trip. ... Boston plays at Pittsburgh Sunday. Wayne Simmonds Jersey . Patrice Cormier scored twice for Rimouski (2-3-2-0), with Felix Lefrancois adding the other goal for the Oceanic. Carl Gelinas, Travis Randell and Steve Gillard replied for Halifax (0-7-0-0), which trailed 3-1 after 40 minutes but managed to tie the match with a pair of power-play goals in the opening 78 seconds of the third period. Drew Doughty Authentic Jersey . Bode Miller skied out in the slalom, which was raced under floodlights, when he led the field by more than two seconds. Alexandre Burrows also scored in the victory, while Daniel Sedin had a pair of assists.Having gone through rehab so many times, Jan Hudec figures the recovery from his latest injury will be a piece of cake. The 26-year-old skier from Calgary was in the midst of his best downhill season when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and broke his left thumb in a fall during training last Tuesday for a World Cup race in Wengen, Switzerland. He now faces a fourth surgery on the knee. He cant hold crutches because of the thumb so he cant walk. He returned to Canada on Wednesday and was checked out by specialists. Hed won gold in the World Cup opener at Lake Louise, Alta., and bronze at Bormio, Italy, and then came the fateful day. "It was a beautiful day," he recalled is describing the moments leading to his latest fall. "I felt great coming off a good result in Bormio (Italy) and a good break at New Years. "I had a pretty close call before the crash. It scared me a little bit. I had a good run for the rest of the course but, near the bottom on one of the fastest parts of any World Cup course on the tour . . . I was going pretty fast, about 130 kilometres an hour . . . I caught the inside edge of my inside ski and from there on it was basically a big train wreck." He knew immediately that it was serious. "Having been through this a few times, as soon as I lost my edge I knew it was going to be bad because I was going so fast," he said during a conference call Thursday. "I heard a bit of a pop and felt it. "I pretty much knew exactly what happened. When I stopped sliding, it was really painful. I felt desperation, anger - every emotion besides happiness. Basically, devastation." Its especially frustrating given the season he had been having so far. "I had such a great opportunity to break through and make some money this year and this and that. I was lying there and I think I punched the snow as hard as I could four or five times to get the frustration out. That got the initial anger out of me and after that I just started dealing with it, like I have all the other times, and tried to stay happy." Hes remarkably resilient and knows it could have been worse. Chris Stewart Jersey. "I didnt hit my head or anything," said Hudec. "All things considered, I was pretty lucky." He says he intends to be at the starting line for the first World Cup race next season. "Honestly, I dont feel its a lot to overcome," he said. "A lot of people have overcome worse injuries. "You never give up, especially if you still have it in your heart and you still know you can do something. Growing up, guys like Brian (Stemmle) and Todd Brooker, guys who had huge crashes, came back and had good results." Hudec, who calls himself a "pro rehab artist," says the injury wont slow him down. But it has crossed his mind, given the multiple surgergies, that he might be cursed. His faith in his athletic abilities allowed him to dispel the notion. "I know in my heart Im supposed to be in this sport," said Hudec. "The odds have been against me more than once but when you come through and succeed against odds like that you know more is involved than talent and hard work - like, it was meant to be." Hudec feels he still has things to achieve in the sport and thats whats motivating him to return for this latest setback. "This is another challenge and hopefully Ill come back stronger," he said. He got to fly home in business class with the flight attendants bringing him ice every two hours to apply to his bruised limbs. "I plan on this being my last knee surgery for quite a few years," he said. "If this had happened later in the season or next season, itd be tough getting back for the Olympics." Dr. Christopher Irving of Calgary, the teams doctor, said the average time from surgery to returning to the snow "is in the ballpark of about six months." Hudec, who is married with an infant son, saw Dr. Robert Litchfield at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in London, Ont. "They have confirmed that Jan has torn his ACL graft from his previous reconstruction," said Irving. "There are further tests pending to evaluate the knee and thumb."  ' ' '

The Buckeyes, one of two remaining unbeaten teams, are No. 1 for the second straight week after taking over for Duke last Monday. Ohio State received 63 first-place votes, 14 more than last week, and a total of 1,623 points from a nationwide media panel. Pittsburgh moved up from fifth to second after knocking off one of last weeks four unbeaten teams in Syracuse. The Panthers picked up one first-place vote, as did Duke, which slid up one spot to third. San Diego State, the other remaining unbeaten squad, leapt two places to fourth with Connecticut jumping three spots into fifth. Kansas, Texas, Villanova, BYU and Syracuse complete this weeks top 10, although BYU and Syracuse are actually tied for ninth. Kansas lost for the first time on Saturday with a 74-63 home setback to Texas and fell four places from second. Syracuse, which followed up its 74-66 loss at Pittsburgh last Monday with an 83-72 home setback to Villanova on Saturday, tumbled six places from third. The second 10 consists of Missouri, Purdue, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, Vanderbilt and Illinois. Vanderbilt returned to the poll after a two-week absence thanks to an 89-70 win over St. Marys, which was 22nd laast week but fell out of the poll following the loss in Nashville. Marc Staal Authentic Jersey. Georgetown, Florida State, Louisville, Florida and Michigan State are the last five teams ranked this week. Michigan State tumbled eight places from 17th after losses last week at Illinois and Purdue, while Louisville fell four spots after a Saturday setback at Providence. Florida State and Florida joined Vandy as this weeks newcomers. Florida State is ranked for the first time this season and owns a four-game winning streak that started January 12 with a victory over then-No. 1 Duke. Florida began the season as the ninth-ranked team in the country, fell out of the poll the first week of December and returned for a one-week stay at the end of December. In addition to St. Marys, Big East members West Virginia and Cincinnati fell out this week. Nine Big East teams were ranked last week, but West Virginia lost to Marshall before beating South Florida and Cincinnati was beaten by Notre Dame before edging St. Johns. This weeks schedule includes a few ranked matchups. Ohio State hosts Purdue on Tuesday, while Wednesdays slate includes a mammoth Mountain West showdown between San Diego State and BYU in Provo. On Saturday, Louisville visits Connecticut and Georgetown travels to Philadelphia to meet Villanova. Purdue will have a second ranked matchup for the week when Minnesota heads to Mackey Arena and Texas welcomes Missouri. ' ' '

Nov. 13, 2008 and then slung

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Clippers didnt need time after the draft lottery to decide who to take with the No. Drew Doughty Jersey . 1 pick. They settled on Blake Griffin long ago. "Id say we made the decision June 2008," assistant general manager Neil Olshey said Wednesday at the teams practice facility in Playa Vista. "When he decided to go back to Oklahoma, that if we got the No. 1 pick in 09, hed be the guy." The Clippers earned the right to select the All-American forward in the June 25 draft Tuesday when they won the lottery, moving up from the third-best chance. On Wednesday, the Clippers strategically placed pictures of Griffin on their Web site to advertise ticket sales for next season. Team president Andy Roeser refused to say what Los Angeles would do with the pick Tuesday night, but Olshey wanted fans to understand the Clippers are committed to winning. "We went through a very difficult season. I dont think that our record is indicative of our roster composition," Olshey said. "I think that Blake was clearly the No. 1 choice. "It was important to give clarity to our fans to understand that weve spent the last month licking our wounds, finding out what we did wrong for the last 82 games and now its about the future. "Today is the first step towards making sure were not back in the lottery for any other reason other than picking up Minnesotas (future) pick that were still owed." It will be the third time the Clippers have had the No. 1 pick. The last time they made a blunder by selecting centre Michael Olowokandi in 1998, who averaged 8.3 points in his career and is out of the NBA. The Clippers also had the top pick in 1988 and took Danny Manning. Griffin figures to be a much better investment for the team. He averaged 22.7 points and led the nation with 30 double-doubles and 14.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore at Oklahoma. Olshey believes Griffin can make an impact as a rookie. The woeful Clippers franchise has made the NBA playoffs only four times in team history. Because of the calibre of players returning to the team next season, including point guard Baron Davis, Griffin wont be expected to be the teams saviour, Olshey noted. But he can certainly contribute to improvement. The Clippers finished 19-63 this past season. "I just think Blakes decision to go back to school, this was his rookie year," Olshey said. "Hes going to have a little bit of a learning curve in terms of learning the league, but hes got the physicality to play right away. "Hes got an expanding skill level. He can make an impact on both ends of the floor." Authentic David Legwand Jersey . Riley said Thursday that "theres a possibility" he will "miss one or two" upcoming Heat games because he wants to travel to the various NCAA conference tournaments and start seeing players wholl potentially be in this years draft. Ryan Callahan Authentic Jersey . A horse that was trapped by the raging fires lies dead at the side of the road near the community of Kinglake, northeast of Melbourne, Australia,Monday. Bobby Clarke Jersey .2 seconds remaining to lift the Eastern Illinois Panthers to a 61-60 victory over the Murray State Racers in an Ohio Valley Conference clash at the Regional Special Events Center. T.J Oshie Authentic Jersey . The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Wednesday that Boughner had stepped down as assistant coach after one season. Zach Parise Jersey . Both games can be seen live on TSN, TSN.ca and TSN Mobile TV. The winners advance to the semifinals, while the losers are knocked out of medal contention. Finland and Slovakia are playing now, with the winner getting a date with Sweden in the semifinals on Tuesday. DECATUR, Ala. -- Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested Thursday on misdemeanour assault, firearms and other charges after police said he fired a gun during a fight in his Alabama hometown. McClain, 22, held a gun beside a mans head during an altercation and the man begged him not to shoot, according to a statement released by Lt. John Crouch of the Decatur Police Department. McClain, an All American at Alabama during his junior year, moved the gun but fired a round beside the mans ear, according to the statement. No one was shot, but police said a man who was injured in the altercation drove himself to a hospital, where he was treated and released. McClain was released on US$2,000 bond. He faces charges of assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and firing a gun inside the city limits. Another man identified as Jerradius Willingham, 23, was charged with assault and released after posting a $500 bond. McClains attorney Billy C. Burney II said the linebacker denies he fired a gun and said he was not involved in the fight. "Mr. McClain asserts his innocence," Burney said in a statement. "We are confident that Mr. McClain will be cleared of all charges." The Raiders had no comment. McClains agent, Pat Dye Jr., did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment Raiders coach Hue Jackson said McClain was in Alabama for the funeral of his grandfather. Speaking before the arrest, he said McClain would play Sunday at Miami "as far as I know." "I can tell you we understand and know exactly whats going on, and we feel very comfortable with our information and we dont have any further comment at this time," Jackson said. McClain is the Raiders second-leading tackler this season after joining the team as the eighth overall pick in 2010. Although he struggled as a rookie, the six-foot-three, 255-pounder had developed into a centrepiece of Oaklands defence this season despite being slowed by a sore left ankle. Earlier this year McClain, the 2009 Butkus Award winner at Alabama, reported someone in Decatur shooting at his vehicle. There wasnt any indication whether the two incidents were related. Police said the victim, whose name was not released, suffered injuries to his head and face during a fight with Willingham. Wayne Gretzky Jersey. He was bleeding when officers talked to him. "The victim told officers that following the fight, he crawled to his car," the police statement said. "He said that when he reached his car, Rolando McClain produced a pistol and aimed it at him. He said that while he was still on the ground, McClain walked over to him and put the gun to his head." Police said the victim told officers "he begged McClain not to shoot him and that McClain took the gun away from his head, held it next to his ear and fired it." McClain was facing legal problems in Alabama before his arrest. A University of Alabama student sued McClain in November 2010 claiming the former Crimson Tide star hit him with a car and assaulted him in 2008. Stanford Matthew Mangham filed suit in circuit court in Morgan County, where Decatur is located. Mangham claims McClain intentionally hit him twice at an intersection on Nov. 13, 2008 and then slung Mangham to the ground, causing permanent injuries. He is seeking $75,000 plus punitive damages. McClains attorneys filed documents in court denying the students claims. That case is set for trial June 5. McClains ankle injury forced him to miss the Raiders 38-24 loss to Denver on Nov. 6 when the Broncos ran for 299 yards, 118 from quarterback Tim Tebow. McClain re-injured his ankle on the first play of the second half in last weeks 25-20 win over Chicago but came back later to finish the game. Since McClains return, Oakland has won three straight to take a one-game lead in the AFC West heading into Sundays game at Miami. Raiders veteran running back Rock Cartwright said he intends to talk to McClain about his situation whenever the linebacker returns to the team. "All you can do is tell them things, try to give them help, but if they dont want to be helped, then they wont be helped," Cartwright said. "Once he gets back, Ill try to put a bug in his ear and see whats going on." McClain signed a $40 million, five-year contract that included $23 million in guarantees with the Raiders on July 28, 2010. ' ' '

international financial crisis

SAN JOSE, Calif. Mike Knuble Authentic Jersey . - Coach Todd McLellan insisted his San Jose Sharks had a good bit of rink rust after a four-day layoff. He thought their legs were heavy and their passes werent crisp for about 30 minutes. That was news to the Washington Capitals, who couldnt spot a weakness while getting routed by the NHLs overall leaders. Ryane Clowe scored two goals, Rob Blake had four assists and San Jose improved to 17-3-1 with a 7-2 victory over the road-weary Capitals on Saturday night. Joe Thornton and captain Patrick Marleau each had a goal and an assist for San Jose, which improved to 11-0-1 at the Shark Tank with yet another dominant puck-possession performance. Mike Grier scored with 52.3 seconds to play, allowing San Jose to match its highest goal total of the season. McLellan knows its important to avoid complacency when everything is going so well for the Sharks, but he doesnt think itll be a problem with San Joses veteran leadership. "Its never the same when you have that many days off, but its a lesson learned," he said. "This could be (like) a playoff series, where you have that many days between games." Playoff talk in late November doesnt seem absurd with the Sharks, who already lead second-place Anaheim by 10 points in the Pacific Division. Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Devin Setoguchi also added a goal and an assist as the Sharks found their legs in plenty of time to finish the Capitals, who havent beaten San Jose in this century. "Everybody was kind of skeptical about the days off that we had, but once we got our legs going, we did pretty well," said Setoguchi, who has 10 points in the past five games. "Everyone has been chipping in since the start of the year, and it takes the pressure off you when every line is scoring." Brian Boucher stopped 19 shots in his seventh straight start for the Sharks, and Dan Boyle moved into a tie for the overall league scoring lead among defencemen with two assists, giving him 18 points. San Jose leads the NHL in shots per game by a fairly wide margin, but needed just 28 to blow out the Capitals in a meeting of division leaders. "Obviously they are a well-oiled machine over there, and thats why theyre in first place," said Washingtons Matt Bradley, a former Sharks forward. "I think they are a very good team, but I think we can play with them when everybody is healthy." Tom Poti and Tomas Fleischmann scored in the Capitals third game in four nights in California during a tough five-game road swing. Brent Johnsons goals-against average took a beating, as he made no particularly big stops against the Sharks three relentless scoring lines. Washington hadnt been to San Jose in nearly three years, but the Capitals havent won in the Bay Area since 1993. Theyve lost 11 straight overall to the Sharks. Sergei Fedorov returned to the Capitals lineup for just four minutes after missing seven games with a sprained ankle, but left wing Alexander Semin and defenceman Mike Green are still out with injuries. Washington would have needed everybody to keep up with speedy San Jose on the first anniversary of the Caps hiring of coach Bruce Boudreau, who has transformed an underachieving club into one of the Eastern Conferences best. "I thought we made three or four mistakes, and theyre the kind of team that when you make mistakes, theyll capitalize on it right away," Boudreau said. "Weve been getting away with two or three mistakes a game and it not hurting us, but tonight it really hurt us." Longtime San Jose goalie Evgeni Nabokov also was back in uniform as Bouchers backup for the first time since getting hurt Nov. 6 during a shootout against St. Louis. The Sharks have been able to be cautious with their Vezina Trophy finalist because of Boucher, who is 7-1-1 this season with significantly better statistics than Nabokov. McLellan said Nabokov will start the Sharks next game against Chicago on Wednesday. Notes: Grier returned from a two-game absence with a lower-body injury. . Donald Brashear won a clear decision over Jody Shelley in a first-period fight between NHL heavyweights. . Bradley is a former Sharks draft pick who spent his first three NHL seasons in San Jose. Al Macinnis Jersey . Mais cette finale de la Coupe Stanley disputée entre ses deux anciennes équipes force le commentateur et ex-joueur à se tourner la langue sept fois. Sean Avery Jersey . No turkey and sides. Hell be covering NFL receivers instead. Bennett flew to Cincinnati and signed with a Bengals team so desperate for players that its taking cornerbacks who have been out of football for weeks. Maxime Talbot Authentic Jersey . high-scoring centre while the other is a 65", 210lb defenceman. Dustin Brown Jersey . Eric Greenwood caught two touchdown passes for Idaho (5-6, 2-4 WAC), and finished the game with 114 yards on just four catches. Diondre Borel had a rough outing for Utah State (4-7, 2-5), as the quarterback completed less than 50. Shane Doan Authentic Jersey . Oakland fans may not be as patient as the squad returns home following a disastrous road trip to kick off a three-game series with the Kansas City Royals in Melvins Coliseum debut.LAS VEGAS -- Jon (Bones) Jones stands six foot four and has a wingspan like a B-52 bomber. He is a spinning buzzsaw of punches, elbows, kicks, knees and throws. And just 23, he may well be the future of the UFCs light-heavyweight division. "Hes a good-looking kid, he speaks well and hes nasty when he fights," UFC president Dana White says approvingly. On Saturday, Jones (11-1) meets Ryan (Darth) Bader (12-0) in one of UFC 126s most anticipated fights. Judging from his reception at a public workout Thursday, Jones is well on his way to mixed martial arts stardom. Fans chanted his name as he worked the crowd, hurling signed gear into the stands. But his beaming smile belies his ability to finish opponents and inflict pain in the cage. "You meet Jon Jones, you couldnt meet a nicer guy -- humble and sweet and smart," White says. "And then you see him in the Octagon and youre like Holy shit, look what he just did to nice Matt Hamill." Hamill was literally left broken on the ground after meeting Jones. The former decorated wrestler suffered a separated shoulder, manhandled by Jones in four minutes 14 seconds. A dazed Hamill still got the victory on a disputed disqualification because of an illegal elbow. Jones then put Brandon (The Truth) Vera on the ground and used his elbow to smash his face in three minutes 19 seconds. Vera required two surgeries to implant three metal plates and six screws. And last time out, Jones destroyed cagey veteran Vladimir Matyushenko in one minute 52 seconds. "He definitely can be a UFC champ," Matyushenko said after Jones tripped him in the centre of the cage, moved into side control and trapped his arm before firing 10 unanswered elbows on his unprotected head. Jones overall record in the UFC is 5-1. Not bad for the organizations fifth-youngest fighter. "As far as Jones goes, I keep saying, OK this guy (opponent) is going to be the test, this is going to see how good he really is, and then he blows through that guy," said former light-heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin. "So I really dont even know how good that kid is. Every time somebodys going to give him a great fight, he beats them in a couple minutes, so Ive been surprised." Added former middleweight champion Rich Franklin: "Im really impressed with how relaxed he is in the ring to do some things that you normally you would try to do maybe in a sparring session but not necessarily in a fight. "Guys like him are the future of the 205-pound division," he added. Jones is the middle -- and smallest -- of the three Jones boys. Arthur Jones, 24, just finished his rookie season with the Baltimore Ravens as a six-foot-three, 313-pound defensive tackle. Chandler Jones, 19, is a six-foot-five, 251-pound defensive end going into his senior year at Syracuse University. Jon wrestled and played high school football, but there wasnt much demand for a 6-4, 177-pound defensive lineman. He got his nickname at high school in Endicott, N.Y. "Everyone called me Bones because I have really bad chicken legs and Im a thin guy. Im really strong, deceptively strong but you cant see it," he explained. "Im just really skinny." After winning the national junior college championship at 197 pounds at Iowa Central Community College, Jones was headed to Iowa State on a full wrestling scholarship. Then high school sweetheart Jessiie became pregnant. Nicklas Backstrom Jersey. Needing to make a living, he put aside college. With wrestling no longer a competition option, he turned to mixed martial arts. He found his way to Team BombSquad, a training centre in Cortland, N.Y. Now he refines his skills under the tutelage of Greg Jackson in Albuquerque, N.M. There he learns his trade alongside the likes of Rashad Evans, Keith Jardine and a host of other elite fighters. Away from the gym, Jones also studies his opponents over and over. "Ive fallen asleep on his fights many nights," he said of watching Bader video. While Jones says the right things, there is an edge that can surface. He did not appreciate Veras attitude towards him prior to their fight, showing it at the weigh-in. "Everything goes around, comes around. We all see whats going on with him," Jones said of Vera, who was cut by the UFC one loss later. Still Jones says he hopes Vera can return to the big stage, suggesting he see a sports psychologist to bring his mental skills up to the level of his physical attributes. A father of two with Jessie, Jones seemingly has remained grounded despite his success. "Just three years ago I wasnt in this position, I was just a normal college kid," he said. "And now things have changed. I just try to remember it could all be taken away." Jones has plenty of words to live by -- "I think knowledge is power," he notes. "Theres a quote that says you can never look down at someone for looking up to you. So I just try to always respect someone as an individual. I think thats a great way to live and I think if more people had that attitude, this would be a better world." Jones has a knack for saying the right thing, as shown when asked about meeting the unbeaten Bader. "I try not to look at an opponent as like a big opponent or a big name. Ultimately I dont care what credentials someones won. I fight their body, not their name." He stays close to his friends back home, as well as his "praying mom and my girlfriend who will be my wife sooner or later." And he credits God first. He has Philippians 4:13 tattooed on his chest. "I can do all things through Christ." Jones does admit to some qualms about the expectations heaped on him given his youth and inexperience. "To have such a big mark on my back when Im still learning, its scary." And he knows given the hype surrounding him, there is not way he can satisfy the critics despite his quickfire success. Bader, a former all-American wrestler with a big punch, looks to slow down the Jones bandwagon. The 27-year-old Bader knows he has to stay on the move so he doesnt get befuddled by Jones unorthodox attack. At 6-2, Bader is only two inches shorter than Jones but will be giving up eight inches in reach. "A lot of people in the media, fans, have pretty much written me off altogether in this fight," Bader said. "Hes been rolling through people. Im undefeated but hes been doing it in devastating fashion, taking people out in the first round. Hes flashy, hes dynamic and people like to see that. "Were pretty much total opposite fighters. Im more basic and hes got the funky moves and all that. "I relish the underdog role of people not giving me the chance and its going to feel good to prove a lot of people wrong when I go out there and beat him." ' ' '

ALICANTE, Spain -- Hercules routed Atletico Madrid 4-1 with four first-half goals to close the 18th round of the Spanish league on Monday. Jorge "Tote" Lopez, Nelson Valdez, Olivier Thombert and David Trezeguet all scored before halftime as a toothless Atletico seemingly had its sights set on Thursdays Copa del Rey match against Real Madrid. Jose Antonio Reyes grabbed one back for Atletico with one minute to play. "We have obligation to look like men in three days," said Atletico coach Quique Sanchez Flores, adding that his team must ask its fans for forgiveness after the loss. Hercules fourth straight victory at Rico Perez stadium lifted the promoted side into 11th place, five points behind sixth-place Atletico, which is seven points off the Champions League positions. Tote scored the 11th-minute opener when he slotted the ball inside the right post. Atletico was sluggish in defence and soon fell two goals behind when Valdez curled a shot from outside the area into the left corner of De Geas goal in the 23rd for the Paraguyans seventh goal of the season.. Authentic Shea Weber Jersey. "We gave away the first two goals," Sanchez Flores said. "From there it was tough to come back." Thombert added Hercules third in the 32rd rising above Atletico defender Diego Godin to head home a cross from Francisco Pena, and Trezeguets right-foot shot completed the demolition a minute before halftime. The former France striker has scored nine goals, all at home. Hercules came close to a fifth goal when Matias Fritlzers long strike rattled the left post in the 57th and De Gea almost spilled Sendoa Aguirres strike across his goal line in the 69th. Atletico striker Diego Forlan came on as a second-half subsitute before Reyes scored one for the visitors. Earlier in round 18, league leader Barcelona remained two points ahead of Real Madrid after beating Deportivo La Coruna 4-0 and its rivals rallied past third-place Villarreal 4-2 with a hat trick by Cristiano Ronaldo. Also, Valencia downed Levante 1-0 to close to within two points of Villarreal with fifth-place Espanyol three points back after routing last-place Zaragoza 4-0. ' ' '

LAUSANNE, Switzerland - Singapore will host the first Youth Olympic Games in 2010. Kevin Durant Authentic Jersey . The Southeast Asian city-state of 4.5 million people beat out Moscow in a vote of the International Olympic Committee. The result was announced Thursday by IOC president Jacques Rogge during a ceremony at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. In a postal ballot of IOC members, Singapore defeated the Russian capital 53-44. Singapore has never staged a major international multisports event but held a sentimental edge over Moscow. The IOC was eager to reward a city which might never be able to stage the full Olympics. "We dared to dream, we worked hard to pursue our dream despite the odds, and now the dream will become a reality," Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said. The Youth Games will feature about 3,200 athletes aged 14 to 18, competing in 26 sports. The event, to be held every four years, is designed to encourage youngsters to get involved in sports and spend less time in front of computer and television screens. The first Winter Youth Olympics will be in 2012. "Its a great honour and privilege for all of us, for Singapore and every Singaporean," Lee said. "For the first time, the Olympics name will be in Southeast Asia, and in Singapore. "We will be the focus of a new era of sports development for Singapore, for Southeast Asia and for the Olympic movement." Lee spoke at a public gathering in Singapore that included about 5,000 students from 90 schools, most of whom were decked out in red and were assembled at a large field in front of the downtown City Hall to listen to the result from Lausanne. "We worked very hard for seven months," Lee said. "It was a national effort, but more than that, it was a peoples effort. "Now, the countdown to 2010 begins. We have 2 1/2 years to prepare for the Youth Olympic Games. Its going to be challenging, but its going to be full of excitement and achievements." Moscow hosted the 1980 Olympics, and Russias Black Sea resort of Sochi was picked last year to stage the 2014 Winter Games. IOC members are well acquainted with Singapore, which was host to the IOC general assembly in 2005 where London was picked to stage the 2012 Olympics. "This is a key moment for the Olympic movement," Rogge said. "Singapore has put together a very exciting project. "Hosting the Youth Olympic Games for the first time is a great responsibility, and I have every confidence in the team in Singapore. I have no doubt that their professionalism and enthusiasm will be instrumental in the staging of successful Youth Olympic Games in 2010." Singapore, with a Games budget of $75 million, will use 24 venues, including one large cluster for 13 sports. Nineteen of the venues already exist, four would be built as temporary facilities and one is under construction for equestrian. Singapore was asked by the IOC to provide contingency plans for a second athletes village to allay concerns its first choice might not be ready. Construction work began last month for a 5,000-bed residence at the National University of Singapore. The facility, costing $423 million, is due to be completed six months before the Aug. 14, 2010, opening ceremony at the Marina Bay Floating Stadium. Singapore and Moscow made the final list after the elimination of Athens, Greece; Bangkok, Thailand; Turin, Italy; Debrecen, Hungary; Guatemala City; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Poznan, Poland. "The Youth Olympic Games are the flagship of the IOCs determination to reach out to young people," Rogge said. "These Games will not only be about competition. "They will also be the platform through which youngsters will learn about the Olympic values and the benefits of sport, and will share their experiences with other communities around the globe." Nike Anquan Boldin Jersey . Richie Gordon added 11 points for Western Carolina (3-4). Kyle Gaillard netted 11 points in the loss for William & Mary (2-4), as he was the only double-digit scorer in defeat. Western Carolina led 36-17 at intermission after scoring 20 points off 11 first-half turnovers by William & Mary. Hakeem Nicks Jersey . Philadelphia starter Adam Eaton (1-3) allowed only one run on four hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings. "It was very important for him (Eaton) to get a win tonight," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "That will help him. Elvis Dumervil Nike Jersey . Artest says he was carrying Christmas boxes into his house after Los Angeles loss to Cleveland when he slipped near some steps and fell onto concrete. Clippers Chris Paul Jersey . Derek Holden and David Shields also scored for the Otters (17-16-2) while McKegg, a prospect with the Toronto Maple Leafs, added two assists. Michael Sgarbossa provided all the offence for Sudbury (11-20-2), while Valiquette made 32 saves. Amare Stoudemire Jersey for Sale . - The Green Bay Packers will retire Brett Favres No.WASHINGTON - The Washington Capitals replaced rookie goaltender Simeon Varlamov with veteran Jose Theodore after falling behind 4-0 in the second period Wednesday night in their 6-2 Game 7 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Varlamov, who had anchored the Capitals in net for the previous 12 games, allowed goals on back-to-back shots in both the first and second periods. He faced only 18 shots before he was removed at 2:13 of the second. "After the third goal I was thinking of pulling him because he looked really dejected," Washington coach Bruce Boudreau said. "Maybe I should have called a timeout at that point. "But, after the fourthh goal, I think the wind completely came out of his sails emotionally. Henrik Lundqvist Jersey. "Hes been holding us in and done so much since he took over, and I just thought it poured out of him. Thats why I made the change then, and I maybe should have made it one game sooner." Theodore allowed two more goals as the Penguins won to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. The 21-year-old Varlamov had become a playoff sensation, posting two shutouts and 2.28 goals against average before Wednesday. He had only played in six career regular-season games before replacing Theodore following a Game 1 loss to the New York Rangers in the first round. Wholesale Jerseys. Ruiz was sidelined with lower back inflammation. He appeared in two extended spring training games and went 1 for 3 with a run scored Thursday night in a one-game rehab assignment for single-A Clearwater. ' ' '

Lupul totaled a goal and three assists

history of coups and upheaval

Drills run by the Houston Texans at their minicamp last May went against the terms set out in the collective bargaining agreement, reports ESPN. Authentic Amare Stoudemire Jersey . According to the network, the team ran one-on-one blocking drills that may have resulted in injuries to three players. The ESPN report went on to say four players and a person from the front office, all speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the players were not wearing pads, only helmets during the drills.  The rules of the NFLs CBA with the Players Association prohibit that type of contact in minicamp drills. "Theres a reason why these drills are prohibited in the offseason," Texans offensive guard Dan Stevenson said. "Football is dangerous enough as it is." Stevenson believes the injury he suffered (torn labrum) could end his career. "I felt like, for my career, my occupation, my dreams, for all this to be taken away from me, to be jeopardized not for just one season but for my entire football career for something that wasnt supposed to be done -- I was upset," said Stevenson to ESPN. Sources told ESPN that head coach Gary Kubiak allowed the drills to continue despite complaints from the Texans Players Association representatives.  Jordan Black, now with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chukky Okobi claim they were also injured in the drills. In an email to ESPN, Texans team counsel Suzie Thomas wrote, "I am unable to comment, other than to say that information set forth ... is inaccurate." Demaryius Thomas Jersey . The plan worked so well that Kevin Durant and some of the Thunders other starters started their time off a little early. Jeremy Lin Jersey . - Defensive end Renaldo Wynn is heading back to the Washington Redskins. Y.A. Tittle Jersey . Elvis Andrus and Chris Davis each drove in a run for the Rangers, who had scored just one run during the five-game stretch. With the win, Texas moved 6 1/2 games behind the Angels with 15 games remaining and remained seven games behind Boston in the AL wild card race. Los Angeles Clippers Jersey . The third-seeded Bruins have reeled off three straight wins to take a 3-2 edge in the series. If Boston can win this series it will mark the first time the franchise has ever won a best-of-seven set after falling behind two-games-to- none. BANGKOK: Thailands 81-year-old king made his first public appearance on Friday after more than a month in hospital, in an electric wheelchair and surrounded by hundreds of well-wishers as he visited statues of his parents. A woman holds a portrait of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej during a gathering of well-wishers outside a hospital in Bangkok on September 21. [Agencies]  The health of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the worlds longest-reigning monarch, is a sensitive topic in financial markets because he is the sole unifying figure in a politically polarised country with a long history of coups and upheaval. Looking frail in a light-blue short-sleaved shirt with a brown blanket over his lap, King Bhumibol was wheeled into a cordonned-off area of the hospital compound, at one point slowly raising his arm and maintaining his signature solemn expression. Devery Henderson Jersey. He was surrounded by a medical team who helped steer his wheelchair in an appearance that lasted less than half an hour and appeared to overwhelm hundreds of supporters who bowed and pressed their hands together in a show of respect. The kings lengthy disappearance from public view had raised concern in largely Buddhist Thailand where many of his subjects regard him as almost divine. Most of the countrys 67 million people have lived under his 63-year reign. Concerns about his health sparked a steep fall in Thai stock prices and the local baht currency on October 14 and October 15. Markets rebounded a day later.  Wholesale Jerseys. ST. PAUL, Minn. -- James Wisniewski flicked the puck toward centre ice with Columbus clinging to a one-goal lead and Minnesotas net emptied in the final minute. It bounced past the blue-line, kept going and skidded in for the game-sealing score. Finally, in this forgettable season, the Blue Jackets got a break. The Wild would love one of those these days. R.J. Umberger scored two goals, one on a power play with 21 seconds left in the second period, to send the Blue Jackets to a 3-1 victory over the stumbling Wild on Saturday night. Wisniewski had an assist to go with his empty-netter, returning from a 17-game absence because of an ankle injury. He said he was just trying clear the puck, hardly attempting to score. "The way our season has gone, I expected that puck to kind of hit the post and lay in the crease," Blue Jackets interim coach Todd Richards said. Devin Setoguchi had a goal for the second straight game for the Wild, who lost twice to the NHL-worst Blue Jackets this week, both by 3-1 margins. Rick Nash assisted on both of Umbergers goals. "Its been hard to get those kinds of bounces this year, but I think youve got to create them. Youve got to keep working hard," said Umberger, who slipped a slapshot through traffic and past Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom with 56 seconds remaining in the first period to tie the game. Then he knocked in a rebound over Backstroms head to give the Blue Jackets the lead for good with 21 seconds left in the middle frame. That was the first power-play goal scored by the Blue Jackets on Minnesotas ice in eight matchups. They failed to score on 16 straight man-advantages until Umberger struck late in the second period. Columbus also had two power-play goals on Thursday at Dallas in a 4-2 loss to the Stars. The Blue Jackets kept their lead thanks to Steve Mason, who made 34 saves and earned his first victory in six starts since Dec. 29, with primary goalie Curtis Sanford scratched because of a back injury. Mason gave up 10 goals over his previous two turns. "Theres nobody on this team whos had a rougher season. Hes a guy that can be so good. You want to see his confidence get to where it can be," said Umberger, who broke a seven-game goal drought. Mason won despite a 15-2 shots advantage for the Wild in the third period. "Hes been working hard at his game. It was good to see him get rewarded," Richards said. Mason used entirely new equipment sinnce his previous start -- from the blocker to the glove to the pads to the pants to the chest protector. Ryan Callahan Jersey. He said he felt bigger. "Its just been a tough year on every single front, from not winning and not playing a lot and not playing up to my expectations. Obviously the team as a whole, we havent been playing up to expectations," Mason said. The Wild controlled the flow for most of the night, outshooting the Blue Jackets 35-19 and generating plenty of prime chances near the net. But they struggled to catch passes cleanly, and despite a resurgence of energy after a lifeless effort in a loss to Vancouver on Thursday, the Wild dropped their fourth straight game. The Wild are 5-15-5 since mid-December, when they had the NHLs best record at the 30-game mark. Now they cant even beat the Blue Jackets, who have been buried at the bottom of the Western Conference all season. "Its obviously a little disheartening after having a meeting yesterday about coming out and working. I thought our guys did a great job as far as working and work ethic," Setoguchi said, adding: "If I knew the answer to scoring goals, Id have 50. Its a confidence thing for us right now." Kyle Brodziak nearly broke the second-period tie at the beginning of a power play by trying to backhand a loose puck past Mason as he fell over in the crease. Mason was able to get his glove on it before it crossed the line, and the call of no-goal was upheld by a replay review. "Winning is so much more fun. At least tonight we gave ourselves a chance to win. We played a good hockey game. Its playoff hockey. We have to move on and get ready for the next game," Backstrom said. NOTES: Wild RW Cal Clutterbuck took a hard hit from Fedor Tyutin and limped to the locker-room with a lower-body injury in the second period. He didnt return. Head coach Mike Yeo said he didnt know the severity. ... Nash has five points in four games. ... Wild RW Brad Staubitz cleared waivers and was assigned to Houston of the AHL. He had no goals or assists, while averaging only 6 1/2 minutes over 43 games, this season and was a healthy scratch in five of the previous seven games. The move left the Wild with only 21 players on the active roster. Their only scratch was D Justin Falk. He was replaced by D Mike Lundin, a healthy scratch in 16 of the previous 20 games. ... The Blue Jackets won in regulation here for the fifth time in 22 tries. Wholesale Jerseys. Jason Kubel hit a solo homer and knocked in two, while Delmon Young contributed a two-run double for Minnesota, which snapped a season-high four- game slide. Pavano (9-6) added four strike outs and one walk to his ledger in winning his fourth consecutive start. ' ' '

matinees and the Bruins

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two batted in, as his home run to lead off the eighth inning proved to be the difference in Milwaukees 4-3 victory over the Florida Marlins at Miller Park. Michael Jordan Swingman Jersey . Bill Hall reached base four times with two hits and two walks to help the Brewers snap a two-game slide. Salomon Torres (3-0) was granted the win despite allowing the game-tying run in the eighth, and Carlos Villanueva provided a quality start by allowing just two runs on six hits, while fanning five in six innings of work. Eric Gagne struck out the side in the ninth to record his seventh save of the season. "It was good to go out there and get a save," said Gagne, who blew his last two save opportunities. "We played really good. The starters have been really good, and it was good to go out there and get it done before the 10th inning." Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla each tallied two hits, a run scored and a RBI for Florida, which won the opener of this three-game series on Friday. Renyel Pinto (1-1) was saddled with the loss after allowing Fielders homer in his lone inning on the hill. Floridas Mark Hendrickson, who had won four straight games, received a no- decision after allowing three runs -- two earned -- on five hits in a six- inning start. Torres, in his second inning in relief, couldnt hang on to Milwaukees 3-2 lead in the eighth. Uggla and Jeremy Hermidas back-to-back singles put runners on the corners to start the inning, and Josh Willingham followed with a sharp drive to short. Though the Brewers turned the double play, Uggla scampered home to tie the game. The tie didnt last long, however, as Fielder crushed a 2-1 Pinto offering to straightaway center field for the game-winning round-tripper. "Prince had a history last year of doing a real nice job when opposing teams brought in a tough left-hander to face him," Milwaukee manager Ned Yost said. "Pinto is definitely a tough, big, tall, hard-throwing lefty." Ramirez ran the pitch count full to begin the game and blasted a changeup over the left-center field wall for his 18th career leadoff home run. Milwaukee got the run back in the second by playing small ball. Florida committed two errors in the inning to load the bases with one out, and Villanueva laid down a perfect suicide squeeze to score Fielder. The Brewers took their first lead in the third when Gabe Kapler hit a leadoff double and came around to score on Fielders single to left. The home team loaded the bases again with one out, but only managed one more tally on J.J. Hardys sac fly to center. In the fifth, Hendrickson made it a one-run affair when Kapler dove and couldnt come up with his drive to center. The pitcher ended up on third, and Uggla brought him home on a deep fly to left two batters later. Notes:  Florida first baseman Mike Jacobs, who has 17 RBI this season, left the game in the sixth inning with a sprained middle finger on his right hand. He fouled off a Villanueva fastball and asked to be removed from the game. Wes Helms came in to pinch hit and grounded out..Milwaukees run in the second ended a 16-inning scoreless streak for the club.Corey Hart recorded two hits for the Brewers..Ramirez has hit safely in 21 of 24 games this season..Fielders game-winner traveled an estimated 428 feet..Attendance: 44,169. Nabisco Championship in California

ATLANTA -- Some of the Cardinals six hits in the fifth inning against Atlanta on Wednesday looked like ugly bloopers to the Braves. Mike Green Jersey . To St. Louis starter Adam Wainwright, they looked like the formula for another win. The right-hander (3-0) overcame five walks and drove in a run during the four-run fifth as St. Louis beat the weak-hitting Braves 5-3. The Cardinals trailed 3-1 before rallying with six singles in the fifth, including five to centre-field. Three of the five barely dropped over the reach of shortstop Yunel Escobar. "Ive seen a game like that, but not an inning," said Atlantas Javier Vazquez, who struck out eight in eight innings but took the loss. "I threw the ball good, but the box score is not pretty," Vazquez (2-2) said. "Its a disappointing game. I think when you have good stuff like I did today, you should win the game." Wainwright, Albert Pujols, Chris Duncan and Rick Ankiel had RBI singles in the inning, the last three with two outs. Joe Thurston and Brian Barden opened the inning with singles. "They had their seventh, eighth and ninth hitters up, and they all got bloopers," said Braves manager Bobby Cox, who said Vazquez "got blooped to death." Cardinals manager Tony La Russa agreed that "a couple of those hits were bloopers." "We were lucky to have a four-run rally," La Russa said. Lucky or not, the Cardinals won two of three in the series against the Braves, who have scored three runs or fewer in 11 of 15 games after scoring at least four runs in each of their first six games. The Cardinals are off to their best start since 2006, when they also were 15-7. Wainwright has a 2.76 ERA but has issued 18 walks in 29 1-3 innings. "His delivery was all over the place," La Russa said. "Then he got it together." Wainwright, the Brunswick, Ga., native who began his career with the Braves, allowed seven hits and three runs -- two earned -- with five walks and two strikeouts in six innings. "Its the same old story, Im not getting the quick outs," said Wainwright, who said home plate umpire Jerry Laynes strike zone "got to me after a while." But Wainwright didnt blame the walks on Layne. "I was off-target all night," he said. "Im not pitching well. Ill pitch better." Wainwright gave up three runs in the first three innings. St. Louis, which blew a 1-0 lead in the eighth inning in Tuesday nights 2-1 loss to the Braves, protected the late lead in the final game of the series. With two outs and runners on first and second in the eighth, second baseman Skip Schumaker jumped to catch a soft liner by Omar Infante off closer Ryan Franklin. Franklin recorded four outs for his seventh save. Vazquez gave up nine hits and five runs with one walk in eight innings. He struck out eight -- his fourth straight start with at least eight strikeouts. "He pitched great; I dont know if he can pitch any better," Cox said. Infante had three hits, including a run-scoring single in the second. Notes: Brendan Ryan left the game with tightness in his left hamstring. Ryan grabbed the back of his leg while running to first base on a grounder that rolled foul. La Russa said the team may have to make a roster move. "You have to have a shortstop," he said. ... Umpire Ed Montague was sick and missed the game. Chris Tiller, the fill-in umpire on the crew, was the third base umpire. ... Braves 2B Kelly Johnson, in a 4-for-39 slump that has dropped his batting average to .203, didnt start for the second straight day. ... The Braves said RHP Kenshin Kawakami has right shoulder fatigue, and his next start was pushed back three days to Tuesday. Casey Hampton Jersey . The charismatic Brazilian won as a rookie in 2001 and then backed it up with a victory the next year, becoming only the fifth driver in the history of Indianapolis Motor Speedway to win two in a row. Thaddeus Young Jersey . So captain Christine Sinclair and goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc headline an experienced team of largely familiar names announced Tuesday for the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament. Elton Brand Authentic Jersey . The 19-year-old from Northern Ireland got in a little practice time before grabbing the lead. "It was actually nice to be out late because I wanted to do a little work on my putting before I went out," said McIlroy. Vernon Davis Nike Jersey . McCarty was slated to become a free agent in February. Last season, McCarty carried the ball 52 times for 209 yards and caught 22 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown. James Harrison Jersey . The league said Tuesday that both are suspended without pay and will be eligible to return to Washingtons active roster on Jan. 2 -- the day after the final regular season game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington, DC (Sports Network) - LeBron James recorded 35 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals, as the Miami Heat held off the Washington Wizards, 123-107. Dwyane Wade added 33 points and nine assists for the Heat, who bounced back from a 102-90 loss to the Cavaliers on Tuesday. Chris Bosh donated 26 points and eight boards. James Jones made four three-pointers off the bench en route to 12 points for Miami, which has won eight of 10 and sits third in the Eastern Conference. Jordan Crawford finished with a career-high 39 points for the Wizards, who have struggled to an 18-56 record this season. Maurice Evans added 21 points. Jordan continues to impress and amaze, Wizards head coach Flip Saunders said. Whatever you ask him to do, whatever responsibility, he has no fear. Three players were ejected from the game due to a small scuffle with 8:48 left in the first half. Miami center Zydrunas Ilgauskas controlled the ball at the top of the arc and swung his elbows around while being guarded by John Wall. The rookie guard wasnt happy with Ilgauskas and tried to throw a punch at Ilgauskas midsection. That led to some pushing and shoving. Ilgauskas and Wall each received flagrant foul type twos and were tossed from the contest. Heat forward Juwan Howard and Washington center JaVale McGee were called for a double technical foul. Howard was also ejected from the game. Were not backing away from physical games, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said. The Heat shot 70.6 percennt from the field in the first quarter, but the visitors only led by three, 32-29, after 12 minutes. Antrel Rolle Jersey. Miami went 18-of-22 from the foul line in the first half en route to a 63-52 lead. Washington outscored the Heat, 29-25, in the third quarter to cut the gap to 88-81. The Wizards scored the first six points of the fourth to get within one, 88-87, but Bosh stopped the bleeding with a three-point play. Holding a 94-92 edge with 7 1/2 minutes to play, the Heat put together a 9-2 flurry. James capped the burst with a three-pointer and slam to make it a 103-94 game. The Wizards never got closer than six the rest of the way. GAME NOTES:Miami took all four games from the Wizards this season, its first series sweep of Washington since the 2008-09 campaign. Orlando used a 10-0 run to take control

Mats Sundins status is still up in the air for Saturdays tilt between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres. Nike Ray Lewis Jersey . Sundin, who skated for 20 minutes on Friday, left Wednesday nights game against the Philadelphia Flyers with a pulled groin muscle. He told reporters that hell test it again Saturday, but it was tough to say if he would play yet. "We didnt want him to go out there and skate himself into the ground," Leafs head coach Paul Maurice told reporters. "Were hoping tomorrow hell go out feel good and strong, push himself a little bit and then make a decision." Sundin suffered the injury in the first period of the Leafs 3-2 victory over the Flyers and did not return. Sundin, who leads the team with 77 points, had scored a point in nine straight games and helped lead the Maple Leafs on their current 9-3-1 streak that has them making a late post-season push.  "Obviously this is devastating," Sundin told the Canadian Press about the bad timing of the injury. "(But) we have a good enough team to win if Im not in the lineup." With the win over Philadelphia the Maple Leafs moved within five points of the Flyers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Mark Bavaro Giants Jersey . Jordon Crawford scored 10 points for the Falcons (12-12, 7-3 MAC) who have won six of their last eight starts. Scott Thomas dealt out six assists to go along with his nine points. Those 46 seconds in the final minute of the first half didnt produce a game-winning touchdown, but it was the next best thing for the Giants. The seven-play, 71-yard march that Manning capped with a four-yard touchdown toss to Amani Toomer allowed New York to leave the field at halftime tied at 14. It also seemed to take all the momentum away from Dallas. That was a big momentum swing right there, guard Chris Snee said. To get down the field the way we did, it gave us a completely different feeling coming in here. We were expecting field goal, but a touchdown is a hell of a drive. It was an unbelievable part of the game. What made the drive so memorable is that Dallas seemed to suck the life out of the Giants (12-6) on the previous series. The Cowboys marched 90 yards in 20 plays and took a 14-7 lead on a one-yard touchdown run by Marion Barber with 53 seconds left in the half. Tony Romo and the Cowboys converted six third-down plays on the drive that left the Giants defence walking off the field with their hands on their hips. After a 13-yard kickoff return by rookie Ahmad Bradshaw, Manning misfired on his first pass. He then hit Steve Smith on consecutive passes for 22 and 11 yards and picked up another 15 when Jacques Reeves was called for a face mask penalty. Manning missed Plaxico Burress deep on the next play and then had a pass knocked down by Cowboys lineman Chris Canty. On third-and-10 from the Dallas 23, he found rookie tight end Kevin Boss for 19 yards to the 4. The TD pass to Toomer over the middle came with seven seconds left in the half. They were expecting us to roll over, said Toomer, who had four catches for 80 yards and two TDs. If we went three-and-out or knelt down, then they would have came out in the second half with the ball and they would have thought everything was going to go smoothly. I think they underestimated us, Toomer added. They didnt respect us. Thats one thing you dont want to do in this league. Everybody can play. They beat us twice and if you do that, you feel like you own them. I dont think theyll admit it. Middle linebacker Antonio Pierce said the drive changed the game and paved the way to the Giants ninth straight road win. Thats our quarterback right there, Pierce said of Manning.. Shane Doan Authentic Jersey. He takes all the heat in the world. He takes more criticism than the president, but that shows you a lot about that guy. We had our heads down after that long drive and they (the offence) came right down and answered. Manning said the drive woke up the Giants again. We didnt have a whole lot going our way, Manning said. To get a touchdown on that drive was a big momentum builder for our team. Even after Dallas took a 17-14 lead on the opening series of the second half, the Giants wouldnt go away. After a drive fizzled at the Dallas 40, the defence forced a punt and R.W. McQuarters returned it 25 yards to the Cowboys 37. Manning, who was 12-of-18 for 163 yards and no interceptions, completed passes of 13 yards to Toomer and 11 to Steve Smith eventually setting up Brandon Jacobs game-winning TD run, one which he accentuated by slamming the ball of the play clock. After that it was up to the Giants defence. Dallas would get the ball three times after Jacobs scored the go-ahead touchdown. A sack by Reggie Torbor helped end the first drive. An intentional grounding against Romo stopped the second and McQuarters picked off Romo in the end zone in the closing seconds with Dallas at the Giants 23. It was McQuarters second game-clinching interception in the past two weeks. The veteran also had one in the wild-card game against Tampa Bay. It was my best interception because it was my last, said McQuarters, who took over at cornerback after rookie Aaron Ross left with a shoulder injury in the third quarter. New York won despite having the ball for less than 24 minutes and giving up three scoring drives that covered 96, 90 and 62 yards. Those drives lasted 43 plays and 23 minutes and 32 seconds, draining the already banged-up defence. Now the guys who dubbed themselves the All Joes against the All Pros are one game away from the Super Bowl. No one gave them a chance against the Cowboys except themselves. They felt a play here and there and they could beat Americas Team. Now its on to Green Bay for the Giants, who were written off early this season after consecutive losses to Dallas and Green Bay to start the season. Were 60 minutes away, Burress said. Weve got to focus on the task at hand. Green Bay came to our place and beat us pretty good. Theyre a good team. With Manning finally playing like the franchise player they hoped hed become, the Giants can be pretty good, too. Wholesale Jerseys.J. extension that locks up Marty

LOS ANGELES - Paul Millsap was playing reasonably well and the Utah Jazz had a narrow lead over the Los Angeles Clippers early in the fourth quarter when suddenly, without warning, the third-year forward from Louisiana Tech took over the game. Tedy Bruschi Patriots Jersey . And when it was finished, Millsap seemed surprised by what he had just accomplished. "Is that what it was?" Millsap responded with a smile when told he had scored 15 straight Utah points in a span of 4 minutes, 10 seconds. "I dont know what to say about it. Once you get in that zone, things start going your way." Millsaps outburst was part of a 17-3 run that lifted the unbeaten Jazz to an 89-73 victory over the winless Clippers on Monday night. A three-pointer by Cuttino Mobley had cut Utahs lead to 67-64 before Millsap began his tear by making a pair of foul shots with 8:47 remaining. He finished it with a dunk with 4:37 left, giving the Jazz an 84-67 advantage. Millsap finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and one blocked shot. "Paul just took the game over, thats what it comes down to," said teammate Carlos Boozer, who had 13 points and eight rebounds. "He has that ability if things go his way," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said. "He is really quick for as big as he is. I did not feel like the rest of us wore down the Clippers tonight, but Paul Millsap did. He appreciated playing more minutes, he took advantage of it, and those aspects that make him better should make our team better." Mehmet Okur scored 16 points and Andrei Kirilenko had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Jazz (3-0), who outrebounded the Clippers 44-38 and went 25-of-31 from the foul line while the Clippers were just 9-of-20. Los Angeles was 6-of-19 from three-point range while the Jazz missed all 10 of their attempts from beyond the arc, but it hardly mattered. The Jazz played without star point guard Deron Williams, sidelined with a sprained left ankle. He hopes to play for the first time this season Wednesday night against Portland or Friday night against Oklahoma City. "We play as a team," Millsap said. "Thats going to win us games with or without (Williams)." Chris Kaman led the Clippers (0-4) with 19 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Baron Davis, returning to action after missing two games because of a sore left hip, had 14 points and nine assists. He shot just 5-of-15, including 1-of-8 in the first half. "I didnt really feel like myself," Davis said. "They were able to make the run, and we didnt. Were a work in progress. Its going to take some patience." Davis is one of 10 newcomers on the team this season. Another is Marcus Camby, who had five points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots in 27 minutes in his debut with the Clippers. Camby, acquired from Denver during the off-season, sat out the pre-season and the first three games of the regular season with a bruised right heel. "We need to start building from here, getting guys minutes and getting guys playing together for really the first time," Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said. "We havent really played together since the beginning of training camp." Regarding Camby, Dunleavy said: "I was ecstatic from the standpoint that even thought he has been out a while, he was able to come in and make some good passes and play good defensively." The game was the second in three nights between the teams. The Jazz won 101-79 Saturday night in Utah for their 11th straight home-court victory over the Clippers, setting a franchise record with just five turnovers. They committed their sixth with 4:20 left in the second quarter of this game and finished with 10. Los Angeles committed 19 turnovers. Sloan, whose 1,192 victories rank fourth on the NBA coaching list, was back on the bench after missing Saturday nights game because of flu-like symptoms. Neither team led by more than seven points before Okurs basket triggered Utahs big run. Notes: Sloans teams in Utah have won 998 games since he became head coach early in the 1988-89 season. No NBA coach has ever won 1,000 games with one team. Sloan also coached the Chicago Bulls for 2 1/2 seasons. .. Mike Taylor, a rookie from Iowa State, had two points, two rebounds and one assist in 16 minutes in his first start for the Clippers. Portland took Taylor with the 55th overall selection in the NBA draft last June and traded him to Los Angeles. .. The Jazz also played without Matt Harpring (recovering from ankle surgery) and Jarron Collins (inflamed right elbow). .. The Clippers lost an NBA-high 321 games to injury/illness last season, and didnt have a single player appear in all 82 regular-season games. .. The Clippers missed their first five free throws before Kaman finally connected with 13 1/2 seconds left in the third quarter. By that time, the Jazz were 17-of-22 from the foul line.  Knowshon Moreno Jersey .
